Volunteer

We depend on the efforts of our volunteers to help empower women and their families everyday.  They serve on boards & committees, tutor, work in housing programs, youth initiatives, and so much more. We simply could not do the work we do without the support of our dedicated volunteers and we want YOU to join us!

Requirements may vary depending on the responsibility of each role. Applicants must be 18+ years old or older.  Training will be provided consisting of program specific best-practices as well as health and safety.

  • Childcare Program Volunteer

  • English As A Second Language Tutor
  • Front Desk Receptionist
  • Helping Hands
  • Jackpot Time Bingo

Volunteers in these roles will also have the added opportunity to support fundraising initiatives and special events such as Women’s Day or Summer Night Social as they pop-up throughout the year.

Aquatics Assistant

Promote water safety and prevent drowning! Help people learn to swim, build skills, be active, connect with community, and have fun!

English as a Second Language Tutor

Do you have previous teaching or tutoring experience? Are you passionate about literacy and lifelong learning? In this role, you will support newcomers to Canada build foundational literacy skills, strengthen reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, and to increase their confidence using English in everyday life. Based on need, opportunities may be available inside or outside classroom environments.
