We depend on the efforts of our volunteers to help empower women and their families everyday. They serve on boards & committees, tutor, work in housing programs, youth initiatives, and so much more. We simply could not do the work we do without the support of our dedicated volunteers and we want YOU to join us!
Requirements may vary depending on the responsibility of each role. Applicants must be 18+ years old or older. Training will be provided consisting of program specific best-practices as well as health and safety.

Volunteers in these roles will also have the added opportunity to support fundraising initiatives and special events such as Women’s Day or Summer Night Social as they pop-up throughout the year.

Aquatics Assistant
Board of Directors Member

Currently recruiting Volunteer Board Directors for a 2-6 year commitment starting in June 2025. Our all-female board (welcoming those who identify as women and non-binary) is working to support the YWCA to achieve the vision of an equitable society where women and families thrive. We invite all others who share our passion and values to apply to join us.
We welcome applicants with diverse experiences, ages, ethnic backgrounds and abilities. We are committed to ensuring our board is composed of at least 25% under the age of 31.
Canada Connects Community Mentor
Help build a welcoming, inclusive community while building new friendships and learning about other cultures. As a volunteer, you will be matched with a newcomer family or individual to help them learn about life in Canada, engage with their community and move forward on their settlement journey.
*Current matching need for senior Newcomers however all welcome.

Childcare Program Volunteer
Engage with children in Before and After School Programs, Summer Camps, Holiday, March Breaks, and PA Day Camps. Play, laugh, promote healthy child development and have fun!
English as a Second Language Tutor
Do you have previous teaching or tutoring experience? Are you passionate about literacy and lifelong learning? In this role, you will support newcomers to Canada build foundational literacy skills, strengthen reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, and to increase their confidence using English in everyday life. Based on need, opportunities may be available inside or outside classroom environments.

Front Desk Receptionist
As the first point of access to YWCA supports and services, volunteer your time greeting and connecting people. As part of a dynamic workplace you will be integral in creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere while completing clerical and reception duties.
