Our annual holiday giving program brings together our community to help deserving women, men, families, and youth enjoy the holidays. This program supports our residents, newcomers to Canada and participants within our poverty intervention programs.
Each year, through the generosity of our community, we are able to provide gifts and necessities to help make the season brighter for some of our program participants.
By shopping from our wish list, you will help to provide a gift to a child, family, youth or adult.
And, most importantly, you will let them know that they are not alone this holiday season.
Ways you can get involved
Make a Donation
Financial contributions are greatly appreciated and will be used to purchase items needed to support women and families throughout the season. Donations of $20 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt. Donate online today, by cash, cheques and e-transfer to finance@ywcaste.ca noting “holiday giving program” are most appreciated.
Shop Yourself
If you would like to personally shop for gifts, we have a list attached of frequently wished for items at the holidays plus some winter clothing essentials that are always needed by the adults, youth and families that we serve. This is a great way to feel personally connected to your gifts and the participants that will be receiving them.
Corporate Support or Third-Party Fundraiser
If your organization, group of friends or family is looking for a rewarding way to come together and help people in our community at the holidays, please consider a group sponsorship. Your team can gather items from our wish list or fundraise through holiday bake sales, bottle drives or any other way you find to come together to help our community over the holidays.
