The Newcomer Youth Club supports newcomer children and youth by providing a safe, welcoming, and supportive space to build friendships, strengthen English language skills, and learn about life in Canada. The club fosters a sense of belonging within the local community and encourages positive relationships with peers and trusted adults.
Through interactive and engaging activities, participants also develop essential social and life skills that support success in school, future employment, and community life in Canada.
Sample activities include:
- Bowling
- Mini golf outings
- Splash & Play pool events
- Tree planting and environmental activities
- Robotics and coding workshops
- Educational tours of local fire and police stations
- Cultural and arts experiences, such as the Port Stanley Festival Theatre tour
Newcomer youth who require support in completing high school volunteer hours are encouraged to speak with a Settlement Worker for guidance and opportunities.
