Canada Connects is a community connection initiative that supports newcomer settlement by matching newcomers with Canadian citizens or long-time community members. Through shared activities and conversations, participants build meaningful relationships and strengthen community belonging.
Integration is a two-way process, and Canada Connects brings newcomers and community members together to help create welcoming, inclusive communities.
For Community Volunteers
By participating in Canada Connects, volunteers can:
- Help foster newcomers’ sense of belonging
- Build cross-cultural understanding and communication skills
- Learn about newcomers’ experiences, strengths, and contributions
For Newcomers
Canada Connects helps newcomers:
- Build connections and meaningful relationships within the community
- Improve communication skills and understanding of life in Canada
- Share their experiences and contributions while helping Canadians better understand settlement challenges
