Home Alone – Red Cross Stay Safe

The Home Alone – Red Cross Stay Safe! program offers basic first aid and safety skills for children and youth 9-13 years old. Participants learn about being safe when they are without the direct supervision of a parent, guardian or trusted adult, both at home and in their communities.

Topics covered include:

  • The importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself
  • The importance of setting and following safety rules when on your own
  • How to stay safe at home and within the community
  • How to prepare for, recognize and respond to unexpected situations (e.g., inclement weather, strangers, and unanticipated visits)
  • Basic first aid skills

Cost: $45
Ages: 9 years of age (or completion of Grade 3)

 

Fall/Winter Schedule:

  1. October 17 – YWCA St.Thomas-Elgin (register by Oct 2)
  2. November 21 – Aylmer Community Services (register by Nov 6)
  3. December 21 – Straffordville Public Library (register by Dec 4)
  4. January 15 – Belmont Public Library (register by Dec 31)

Spring/Summer Schedule:

  1. March 18, 2027 – YWCA St.Thomas-Elgin (register by Mar 5)
  2. April 24, 2027 – Rodney Public Library (register by April 9)
  3. June 4, 2027 – Belmont Public Library (register by May 21)
